Her research interests (and teaching areas) include maritime history, imperial history, piracy, heritage, and in particular the British presence in Asia in the 18th-20th centuries. \u00a0She is currently co-editing a volume on\u00a0Empire in Asia in the long-nineteenth century, as part of the\u00a0<em>Empire in Asia<\/em> project in the Department of History, NUS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The research and technical support aspects of this project was largely supported through a grant by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the efforts of two research assistants: Miss Foo Ming Yee and Mr Chng Shao Kai.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>-As with any academic endeavor, all efforts have been made to ensure that appropriate citations are given for sources cited.
